Fossils, a Bengali hard rock band, is widely regarded as one of the seminal rock acts within the Bengali music landscape. The band’s current members include Rupam Islam (lead vocals, additional guitars), Deep Ghosh (rhythm guitar), Allan Temjen Ao (lead guitar), Tanmoy Das (drums), and Prasenjit ‘Pom’ Chakraborty (bass guitar). Their musical style is characterized by an eclectic fusion of blues, rock, and psychedelic elements, combined with Rupam Islam’s distinctive vocal renditions of his psychoanalytical lyrical themes. Furthermore, Fossils is distinguished by its consistent engagement in social commentary and advocacy for initiatives such as the welfare of HIV positive populations and support for underprivileged children.
